UGREEN 40248 takes an HDMI signal and converts it to VGA. Male HDMI connector on the input side. Female VGA on the output side. Old monitors and projectors running VGA get signals from newer HDMI devices through this unit.

Maximum video output hits 1920×1080 at 60Hz. Standard full HD spec. Anything below that resolution works too within normal VGA limits.

VGA carries picture only, no sound. UGREEN added a 3.5mm audio jack on this adapter to handle that problem. Sound breaks out separately to speakers or headphones through that port.

A micro USB port is also present on the body. Purpose is extra power delivery. Some HDMI sources run weak on power output. The micro USB connection pulls additional current when the main HDMI line cannot supply enough. UGREEN mentions this specifically for flat cable adapter setups.

The cable from the HDMI plug to the converter body runs 16 centimeters. Short length. The VGA display cable attaches to the female port and extends to whatever monitor or projector sits on the desk.
