The UGREEN 20611 USB to SATA Hard Drive Converter Cable measures 50cm in length. This cable connects SATA hard drives to computers through a USB interface. Compatible with both HDD and SSD storage devices in different sizes.

Power requirements differ based on drive size. 2.5-inch HDD and SSD units draw power directly through the USB connection. No external power source is needed for these smaller drives. Users connect the cable, and the drive operates using bus power from the computer USB port alone.

3.5-inch HDD and SSD units require more power than USB ports supply. UGREEN includes a 12V/2A power adapter inside the package specifically for 3.5-inch drives. Connecting this adapter to the drive provides stable data transmission. Without the power adapter, 3.5-inch drives may not function properly or may not spin up at all.

UASP protocol supported on UGREEN 20611. Speed improvement reaches up to 20% faster compared to standard USB transfer rates. That speed increase applies only when three conditions are met simultaneously: the host computer supports UASP, the connected hard drive supports UASP, and the operating system running on the computer supports UASP. All three elements must align for the 20% speed gain to take effect. Systems missing any one of these three requirements operate at standard USB transfer speeds.

UGREEN 20611 does not work with optical drives. Blu-ray DVD units, CD-ROM drives, DVD-ROM drives, CD-RW drives, and DVD+RW combo devices fall outside the compatibility range. This cable functions with SATA hard drives and solid-state drives only. Optical media devices require different connection standards.
